The Technical Committee’s team has been tasked to produce a comprehensive guide book that encompasses the current CP 82 and NPQS. This guide book shall cover all topics relating to waterproofing needs in a development and will ultimately serve as a guide to all Specifiers, Consultants, Architects, Contractors and waterproofing applicators as well as members of the public.
In a nut shell, the first part of the WTA’s guide book will cover areas that need to be waterproofed with a recommended generic waterproofing product/s that has/have been used and proven in Singapore for at least 5 years. The specifications of all generic products will then be spelled out in the second part of this guide book with all its’ technical data and requirement.
Our Technical Committee, together with our Independent Technical Advisors will work closely with Spring Singapore to establish a new testing regime for all the different generic products to be listed in the WTA’s Guide Book. Such test regime may ultimately become a new Singapore Standard (like the SS374) and will serve as a guide to all new waterproofing products’ manufacturer who wants to penetrate into Singapore’s market.
Currently, the Technical Committee is compiling the technical data of all difference generic waterproofing products that are available, used and proven in Singapore. We are also appealing to all other manufacturers who have yet to submit their products for our evaluation to do so immediately.
At this juncture, on behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to extend our very warm welcome to Mr. Wong Chung Wan of MAEK Consultants and Miss Catherine Lim of Setsco Services for agreeing to be our Technical Advisors despite their busy schedule. The Technical Committee, with the help of our Technical Advisors will also be approaching more of such qualified independent individual to join our team.
